Early morning departure by 4WD to Ras Al Junaiz, via the scenic and rugged coastal route for breathtaking glimpses of the Gulf of Oman offset by pristine white beaches. After we drive past the fishing village of Quriyat our first stop is at Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. Then stop at Fins beach, a beautiful white sandy beach. While driving along the coast one might get the chance to see fleet-footed Gazelles sprint across the landscape.
Drive ahead to Wadi Tiwi. The road to Tiwi winds between houses. The site is remarkable with its lush green plantations and water flowing all year around.
Picnic lunch will be served at a convenient place.
Check in to Ras Al Hadd Hotel for your overnight stay. After dinner, we have a short drive to the turtle beach to watch the turtles nesting on the sands.
Early breakfast in hotel then proceed to Muscat via Wahiba sands. Before proceeding to Wahiba you will have a short orientation tour of Sur - the costal town well known for its dhow and fishing boat (sambuk) builders.
We then drive to Wadi Bani Khalid. It comprises of small pretty villages embedded in the mountains. The Wadi is an oasis spot in the dry mountains with clear, deep blue water. It is advisable to wear light comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
Lunch will be served at one of the local restaurants.
Move on to the Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand and dunes. Also host to a variety of flora and fauna. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographers delight. Experience a roller coaster like feeling as our experienced 4x4 drivers take you over the dunes. The Wahiba Sands is also home to the traditional Bedouin tribe who are known for their hospitality and their knowledge of the sands. We will stop by a Bedouin family in their traditional and simple habitat.
Return to Muscat at approximately 1730 hrs where the tour comes to an end.
